Canto a tenore

Canto a tenore

Tenore e Cuncordu de Orosei

Established in 1995, the Cuncordu e Tenore de Orosei are considered among the most representative interpreters of the ancient male vocal tradition in Sardinia and the faithful guardians of the legacy passed on by the elderly singers of their community.

They stand out for their extraordinary executive skills but also for the peculiarity of the repertoire that embraces both forms of the Orosei tradition: that of sacred singing, typical of religious brotherhoods, and the profane one of Canto a Tenore.

Strengthened by their cultural heritage, they open up to encounters with other cultures and musical expressions, collaborating with numerous artists, including: Paolo Fresu, Enzo Favata, Luigi Lai, Elena Ledda, Tenores di Bitti, the Bulgarians “Angelitè”, the Berliners Rias Kammerchor , Huun-Huur-Tu from the Republic of Tuva, Mola Sylla from Senegal, Dutch Ernst Reijseger. With the latter they participate in the recording of the soundtrack of two Werner Herzog films: “The Wild Blue Yonder” and “The White Diamond”.

The formation has an intense concert and recording activity and is constantly engaged in a work of cultural and musical dissemination through participation in seminars, workshops, conferences and festivals in different parts of the world.

They joined our seminars in 2019.
